I ran into this band a little while ago, and they really aren't my usual style-but I like them a lot. They've started to get pretty popular recently-I guess they've showed up on MTV and they're going on a big tour through Europe at the end of this month. Here's a Video of "Sleepyhead." Zee Avi
Zee Avi has a great sound that reminds me a lot of Norah Jones-but a little more upbeat maybe? I found her about two days ago and have listened to a few songs a ton. My favorites are "Poppy", "Honey Bee", "First of the Gang". Here's Honey Bee-

Save Rock Canyon Concert
This Last week I went to the "Save Rock Canyon" Concert where they were trying to muster support for the cause to keep it from being given up to mining. To draw some more people out they had a concert up in their mini amphitheater. It was a pretty fun little place to have a concert and really beautiful-would have been perfect except for the rain-it ended up not being too bad as the night went on.
They had a wide range of bands perform and most of them were decent but I had three favorites I want to introduce you to.
Ben and Daniel Tengelsen
The Vibrant Sound

Ben and Daniel are brothers whose sound is very Jack Johnson-esque but still with their own little tweak. Their harmonies were tight and made it seem like maybe they've been practicing together for a while. Their voice quality is awesome and guitar playing was good. It is definitely a chill sound. The Vibrant Sound is one of my favorite Provo bands! They went acoustic for the concert, but still rocked it. They have a unique style of music that is extremely entertaining. One of the favorites of the night was "Plastic Beauty Queen" and of course their Version of Marvin Gaye's "Lets Get it on". I highly recommend this band. They are releasing their first CD here pretty Soon. Finally Cubworld finished off the concert-they were definitely rockin it! they were a high quality band with a wide range of sounds. I liked the cover of Kanye's Heartless, and everybody got up and dancing for the last song in the set "Dancing in the Moonlight". They also had some great originals they did you can find on their website. They were so good that everyone in the crowed cheered for an encore. Music that catches fire Like Matchsticks
I decided to start a music blog because I love finding new music and sharing it with my friends. I'll attempt to update this blog as regularly as possible with new artists I find and sometimes with popular artists, but songs that you may not have heard of. Sometimes I may just put up a song i'm really enjoying at the time. I'll review concerts i've been too and give you links and backgrounds on great bands i've found.
